Powermad

About Powermad
Formed in 1984 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Powermad is a power and thrash metal band that emerged during the latter stages of the first wave of American thrash. The group gained early attention through their 1986 self-titled EP, which led to a major label contract. Their sound is characterized by a fusion of aggressive, rapid-fire riffing and melodic, NWOBHM-inspired vocal delivery. The band achieved cult status following the release of their 1989 debut album, Absolute Power, and a featured performance in the 1990 film Wild at Heart. After an initial dissolution in 1990, the band resumed activity in 2007.
