About Cenotaph

Formed in Mexico City in 1989, Cenotaph emerged from the ashes of the band Damned Cross. As one of the early pioneers of the Mexican death metal scene, the group initially established a sound rooted in guttural, old-school death metal. Over their career, which has been marked by several periods of activity and hiatus, the band evolved to incorporate melodic death metal elements. Their discography includes notable releases such as The Gloomy Reflection of Our Hidden Sorrows (1992) and the 2002 full-length Saga bélica. The band continues to operate as an active entity within the extreme metal underground.
