Formed in Miechów, Poland, in March 1991, Mutilation was an extreme metal band active primarily between 1991 and 2004, with a brief return in 2012. Throughout their existence, the group explored various styles, transitioning between death metal and heavy metal. Their lyrical themes focused on death and war. The band released several recordings, including the 2003 album Possessed by Reality. The group's history involved numerous lineup changes over the years, with guitarist Tomasz Chwastek and vocalist Sławek Malicki serving as long-standing members. Mutilation remained an independent act throughout their career.
