About Aura Noir
Formed in Oslo, Norway, in 1993, Aura Noir is a black and thrash metal band established by multi-instrumentalists Aggressor (Carl-Michael Eide) and Apollyon (Ole Jørgen Moe). The group later expanded to include guitarist Blasphemer. Their sound is characterized by a raw, aggressive approach that draws from the early traditions of both black and thrash metal. In 2004, the band became the first signing to Tyrant Syndicate Productions, a Peaceville Records imprint founded by members of Darkthrone, which released their album The Merciless. The band has maintained a consistent presence in the extreme metal underground through various full-length releases and collaborations, despite significant challenges, including a severe injury sustained by Aggressor in 2005.
