About Exodus
Formed in the late 1970s in the San Francisco Bay Area, Exodus is a foundational American thrash metal band. The group gained early notoriety through the underground tape-trading circuit, establishing a reputation for an aggressive musical style that helped define the regional sound. Following multiple periods of activity and lineup changes, the band continued to record and tour into the 2000s. Their 2007 release, The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A, marked a shift in their approach, incorporating slower, heavier compositions alongside their established thrash roots. The band remains a significant influence within the extreme metal genre.
