Formed in 2009, Horrendous is a progressive death metal band based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group consists of Damian Herring, Matt Knox, Jamie Knox, and Alex Kulick. While their debut release featured a traditional death metal sound, the band has progressively shifted toward a more technical and experimental style, incorporating labyrinthine song structures and diverse vocal techniques. Their discography includes five full-length studio albums, with the 2023 release Ontological Mysterium marking their most recent work. The band’s approach integrates influences from the 1980s and 1990s heavy metal era with modern progressive elements, maintaining a death metal core while exploring unconventional arrangements.
