Legion of the Damned is a Dutch death and thrash metal band based in Helden, Limburg. Formed in 2005, the group emerged from the remnants of the band Occult. Their musical style combines fast-paced thrash metal with death metal elements, characterized by dark, morbid atmospheres. Lyrically, the band explores themes of war, death, the occult, and apocalyptic events. Throughout their career, they have maintained a consistent output of studio albums, including Malevolent Rapture (2006), Sons of the Jackal (2007), Cult of the Dead (2008), Descent into Chaos (2011), Ravenous Plague (2014), Slaves of the Shadow Realm (2019), and The Poison Chalice (2023). The band has frequently collaborated with producer Andy Classen to define their sound.
