About Blue Hummingbird on the Left
Blue Hummingbird on the Left is a black metal band from California, United States, formed in 2010. The group is a member of the Black Twilight Circle collective. Their name is the English translation of the Aztec war god Huitzilopochtli. The band’s lyrical themes center on Mesoamerican folklore, war, and Mexican nationalism. Musically, they incorporate indigenous instrumentation alongside raw black metal, a style showcased on their 2019 debut full-length album, Atl Tlachinolli. The quartet has also contributed to various splits and compilations throughout their career.
