Demoncy

About Demoncy

Demoncy is an American black metal band formed in 1989 in Sylva, North Carolina, by musician Ixithra. Operating as a solo project, the band is recognized as one of the earliest entities within the United States black metal scene. Throughout its history, the project has explored themes of Satanism, occultism, and death. The 1999 full-length album, Joined in Darkness, remains a central release in the band's discography, characterized by a dark, atmospheric approach to the genre. Demoncy has maintained an irregular release schedule and undergone various lineup changes under Ixithra's leadership, continuing to produce material into the 2020s.
