About Entombed
Formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1989 following the dissolution of the band Nihilist, Entombed emerged as a foundational act in the Scandinavian death metal scene. The group is widely recognized for pioneering a distinctive, heavily distorted guitar tone often described as "buzzsaw," which set their early output apart from contemporary death metal styles. Their debut full-length, Left Hand Path (1990), and its successor, Clandestine (1991), remain central to their discography. Over time, the band incorporated elements of hard rock and heavy metal into their sound, a stylistic evolution that became known as death 'n' roll. Entombed has experienced numerous personnel changes throughout their history, maintaining a presence in the extreme metal landscape for several decades.
