About The Ruins of Beverast
The Ruins of Beverast is an atmospheric black and doom metal project from Aachen, Germany, formed in 2003 by multi-instrumentalist Alexander von Meilenwald following the dissolution of his previous band, Nagelfar. The project is characterized by its expansive, cinematic approach to extreme metal, blending traditional black metal elements with funeral doom influences, choral arrangements, and atmospheric soundscapes. While von Meilenwald performs all studio instrumentation and vocals, the project has utilized an expanded line-up for live performances since 2013. The band's discography explores themes including esotericism, death, and history. Their seventh full-length album, Tempelschlaf, was released in 2026.
