About Weapon

Formed in 2003 by frontman Vetis Monarch, Weapon was a Canadian extreme metal band that bridged the gap between black and death metal. Initially established in Calgary, Alberta, the project saw early development in Dhaka, Bangladesh, before relocating to Edmonton. Throughout their decade-long existence, the band explored themes of occultism, Satanism, and death worship. Their final studio effort, Embers and Revelations, was released in 2012 through Relapse Records. Following a North American tour, the band dissolved in 2013, with Monarch citing a desire to avoid creative stagnation. Their discography remains a testament to their aggressive, atmospheric approach to the genre.
