About Thætas

Formed in 2015 in New York, Thætas is a technical and brutal death metal quartet. The band’s sound integrates elements of slam-adjacent death metal with avant-garde sensibilities, resulting in a kinetic and off-kilter approach to the genre. Following their 2020 debut full-length, Shrines to Absurdity, the group released their second album, The Irredeemable Age, in 2026 through Profound Lore Records. The record was mixed and mastered by Colin Marston at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves. The current lineup features drummer Nick Crifo, guitarists Terrell Grannum and Pat Hawkins, and vocalist/bassist Cory Peterson.
