About Plague Bearer
Plague Bearer is a United States-based extreme metal project that originated in the early 1990s. Initially formed in 1993, the band served as a precursor to the death metal act Drawn and Quartered. After a long hiatus, guitarist Kelly Kuciemba resurrected the project as a parallel endeavor. Musically, Plague Bearer bridges black and death metal, maintaining a primitive, uncompromising sound that avoids modern trends. The band's discography includes early underground demos followed by the full-length releases Rise of the Bubonic Death (2018) and Summoning Apocalyptic Devastation (2023). Their work is characterized by sinister, hypnotic melodies and a focus on traditional extreme metal aesthetics.
