About Dismember
Formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1988, Dismember is a death metal band recognized as a foundational act within the Swedish death metal scene. The group gained early attention with their 1991 debut album, Like an Ever Flowing Stream, and continued to release material throughout the 1990s and 2000s, including Indecent and Obscene, Massive Killing Capacity, and Hate Campaign. Their musical style is characterized by fast-paced drumming, heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars, and aggressive vocal delivery. After a hiatus beginning in 2011, the band reunited in 2019. Their lyrical themes frequently explore death, war, anti-religious sentiment, and gore.
