About Grond

Formed in Moscow, Russia, in 2002, Grond is a death metal band known for its thematic focus on maritime and oceanic concepts, often incorporating H.P. Lovecraft-inspired elements. The group maintains a traditional death metal sound characterized by guttural vocals, blast beats, and prominent guitar work. Following a period of inactivity after their 2019 split release, the band returned in 2026 with the full-length album The Temple, released through Xtreem Music. This record explores historical themes surrounding World War I German U-boat operations, blending their established style with modern production.
