About Carnation

Formed in 2013 in Heist-op-den-Berg, Belgium, Carnation is a death metal band consisting of vocalist Simon Duson, bassist Yarne Heylen, guitarist Bert Vervoort, and brothers Jonathan Verstrepen (guitars) and Vincent Verstrepen (drums). The group has maintained a consistent lineup since its inception. Following their 2023 experimental release, Cursed Mortality, the band returned to their foundational death metal sound for their fourth full-length album, Symphony in Flesh (2026). The record emphasizes raw, old-school death metal aesthetics, characterized by sharp riffs and a focus on traditional genre elements. Carnation remains active in the international metal scene, continuing to perform and record independently.
