Rattenfänger is a death metal band from Kharkiv, Ukraine, formed in 2012. The group features musicians associated with various Ukrainian extreme metal projects, including Roman Saenko, Thurios, Krechet, and Vlad. The band's name, which translates to "Rat Catcher," references the medieval legend of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. Rattenfänger plays a style of death metal characterized by a heavy, brutal, and dark sound. Their discography includes the full-length albums Epistolae Obscurorum Virorum (2012) and Geisslerlieder (2019).
