About Unlord
Formed in 1989, Unlord is a Dutch black metal band recognized as one of the earliest practitioners of the genre in the Netherlands. While the group recorded several demo tapes during their early years, these were intended solely for internal practice and were never officially distributed. The band released three studio albums through Displeased Records: Schwarzwald (1997), Gladiator (2000), and Lord of Beneath (2002). Their discography is characterized by a blend of high-speed black metal and melodic riffing. Following their initial activity, the band disbanded in 2003 before eventually returning in 2024.
