Hegemon

About Hegemon

Formed in 1996 in France, Hegemon is a black metal entity characterized by a nihilistic and violent musical approach. The band debuted with the 2000 full-length Chaos Supreme, followed by By This, I Conquer in 2002. Their discography continued with Contemptus Mundi in 2008, which explored themes of historical warfare, and The Hierarch in 2015, an album reflecting on the insignificance of humanity within the universe. Their most recent full-length release is 2021's Sidereus Nuncius. Operating as an anonymous collective, the band views its members as instruments for their creative output, maintaining a focus on themes of war, chaos, and contempt.
