About Corpus Rottus

Formed in 1989, Corpus Rottus was an American death metal band based in Wilmington, Delaware. Active until 2011, the group established themselves within the early 1990s underground scene with a primitive, brutal sound. Their primary studio output, the 1991 album Rituals of Silence, was recorded at Inner Ear Studios and produced in collaboration with King Fowley. The band’s lyrical themes focused on death, gore, hatred, and pain. Their legacy is preserved through the 2018 reissue of Rituals of Silence, which captures the raw intensity of their original material. The final lineup featured vocalist Bryon "Bundy" Swafford, guitarist Jon Rosenblatt, bassist Mike Grant, and drummer Kevin Coates.
