Gates of Ishtar is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Luleå, formed in 1994 by former members of the group Disrupt. The band’s discography includes the full-length albums A Bloodred Path (1996), The Dawn of Flames (1997), and At Dusk and Forever (1998). Their musical style is characterized by a blend of melodic death metal and black metal influences, with lyrical themes focusing on pain, death, darkness, inner struggles, and depression. After an initial period of activity ending in 1998, the band underwent several reformations, including periods of activity from 2015 to 2022 and from 2022 onward.
