Formed in 1988 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, Sathanas is a long-standing force in the American extreme metal underground. The band, led by guitarist and vocalist Paul Tucker, has maintained a consistent approach to blackened death metal for over three decades. While the group briefly operated under the name Bathym between 1989 and 1992, they have remained active as Sathanas since 1992. Their discography includes numerous releases, such as the 2015 album Worship the Devil, which showcases their signature blend of dark, ritualistic themes and aggressive, old-school metal sensibilities. With a career spanning multiple decades, Sathanas continues to be recognized for their enduring commitment to the extreme metal sound.
