Malleus Maleficarum

Formed in 1997 in La Rochelle, France, Malleus Maleficarum is a black metal project that draws its name from the 15th-century witch-hunting treatise. The band’s lyrical themes center on darkness, nihilism, depression, war, and the night. Throughout their existence, the group has explored these subjects through a series of releases, including the 2004 full-length album Des Bibles, Des Hymnes, Des Icônes.... Their discography also includes the albums Taedium Vitae (2002) and Nothing Left to Fight For (2006). The project has maintained a presence in the French underground scene, with past and present members including Ahriman, Nicolas, Tamas, Mastema, and Cthulhu.
