Revenge

Revenge is a Canadian extreme metal band formed in Edmonton, Alberta, in 2000 by drummer and vocalist James Read. Following the dissolution of his previous project, Conqueror, Read established Revenge to continue a chaotic, abrasive musical direction. Often associated with the war metal subgenre, the band characterizes its own sound as black metal, chaotic black metal, or black death metal. The group is defined by a dense, aggressive aesthetic featuring frenzied guitars, distorted bass, and intense percussion. Throughout its history, the project has maintained a consistent, solitary path, with Read serving as the primary creative force alongside long-standing collaborator Vermin. The band has released numerous full-length albums and EPs, including Scum.Collapse.Eradication, Victory.Intolerance.Mastery, and Violation.Strife.Abominate.
