Pustilence

Formed in Brisbane, Australia, in 2018, Pustilence is a death metal band that draws from the technical and melodic traditions of the mid-1990s. Following their 2020 EP, The Birth of the Beginning Before the Inception of the End, the group expanded to a four-piece for their 2023 debut full-length, Beliefs of Dead Stargazers and Soothsayers. Their sound combines aggressive, blast-heavy percussion with intricate, angular riffing and soaring lead guitar work. The band’s output is characterized by a focus on traditional death metal structures, incorporating elements of prog-death and brutal death metal. Pustilence has released material through labels including Memento Mori and Rotted Life Records.
