Lago

Formed in 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona, Lago is a death metal band known for blending oppressive atmosphere with precise, technical riffcraft. The group emerged with the Marianas EP in 2010, followed by their debut full-length, Tyranny, in 2014. Their discography includes the 2018 album Sea of Duress and the 2026 release Vigil, which marked their first output in eight years. Lago’s sound is characterized by dense, suffocating arrangements and progressive elements that explore themes of isolation and oppressive government. The band has maintained a consistent presence in the United States extreme metal scene, with their later work, including Vigil, recorded and produced independently in Phoenix.
