Feral Season

Feral Season is an atmospheric black metal project based in California, United States, consisting of Karl Cordtz and Patrick Hills. The project originated as a vehicle for Cordtz to explore the intersection of black metal aesthetics and the landscapes of Northern California. Drawing sonic influence from early to mid-era Scandinavian black metal, the band incorporates hallucinatory soundscapes into their compositions. In 2021, the duo released their debut full-length album, Rotting Body in the Range of Light, through Profound Lore Records. The record, which features drums and synth contributions from Hills, explores themes of psychological dissolution and introspection.
