Desecresy

Formed in Helsinki, Finland, in 2009, Desecresy is a death metal project currently helmed by sole member Tommi Grönqvist. Initially established as a duo, the project evolved into a solo endeavor with Grönqvist handling all instrumentation and vocals from 2017’s The Mortal Horizon onward. The band is known for a dark, atmospheric, and chug-heavy style of death metal that incorporates doom elements and subterranean vocals. Drawing inspiration from the early 1990s death metal tradition, the project maintains a consistent, bleak aesthetic across its discography, including The Mortal Horizon (2017), Unveil in the Abyss (2022), Deserted Realms (2023), and The Secret of Death (2026). The music is characterized by churning riffs, evocative lead guitars, and unconventional song structures.
