Papa Necrose

Formed in 2010 in Salvador, Brazil, Papa Necrose is a death metal band that explores themes of religious hypocrisy, the contradiction of human reasoning, and the nature of death. The group has released multiple recordings, including their 2026 full-length album, Anthropomorphy Execution, issued through Awakening Records. Musically, the band draws from the classic progressive death metal sound of the 1990s, characterized by down-picked, grinding riffs and dynamic percussion. The 2026 release features a guest appearance by guitarist James Murphy.
