Cenotaph

Formed in Ankara, Türkiye, in 1993, Cenotaph is a brutal death metal band centered around founding vocalist Batu Çetin. The group emerged from the local scene with their 1995 demo, Life Immortal, before establishing a discography defined by gore-themed lyrical content and a focus on extreme, technical death metal. Throughout their history, the band has undergone numerous lineup changes, maintaining a consistent presence in the underground scene through multiple full-length releases, including Voluptuously Minced (1996), Puked Genital Purulency (1999), Pseudo Verminal Cadaverium (2003), Reincarnation in Gorextasy (2007), Putrescent Infectious Rabidity (2010), Perverse Dehumanized Dysfunctions (2017), and Precognition to Eradicate (2021). Çetin also organized the TRDM movement in 2006 to support Turkish brutal death metal acts.
