Grave

Formed in 1988 in Visby, Sweden, Grave is a foundational pillar of the Swedish death metal scene. Alongside Entombed, Dismember, and Unleashed, they are frequently cited as one of the genre's "big four." Led by constant member and vocalist/guitarist Ola Lindgren, the band established their reputation with early classics like Into the Grave and You'll Never See... before navigating a brief hiatus in the late 1990s. Their discography, spanning over three decades, reflects a consistent commitment to death, gore, and anti-Christian themes. From the groove-oriented shifts of the mid-90s to the crushing intensity of later works like Burial Ground and Out of Respect for the Dead, Grave remains a definitive force in extreme metal.
