Festering

Formed in 1992 in Santo António dos Cavaleiros, Portugal, Festering initially emerged as a gore/grind project. After a period of inactivity following their mid-90s dissolution, the band reformed in 2011 with a shifted focus toward death metal. The current iteration of the group continues to explore the darker extremities of the genre, as evidenced by their 2022 full-length release, Compendium of the Horrific. Festering remains a persistent force within the Portuguese underground, maintaining their commitment to the death metal sound established during their revival.
