Manes

Formed in Trondheim, Norway, in 1992, Manes originated as a black metal duo featuring vocalist Sargatanas and multi-instrumentalist Tor-Helge “Cernunnus” Skei. The band established their early sound through a series of three demo tapes released between 1993 and 1995. This era culminated in the 1999 release of their debut full-length album, Under ein blodraud maane, which compiled and refined material from their earlier recordings. While the band later shifted toward experimental, electronic, and avant-garde styles, their initial output remains recognized for its distinct approach to the Norwegian black metal genre.
