Obtruncation

Obtruncation was a Dutch death metal band from Dordrecht, established in 1989. The group was active during the formative years of the Netherlands' death metal scene, releasing several demos before their eventual split in 2021. Their discography includes the 1997 album The Callous Concept and the 2014 release Abode of the Departed Souls, which showcased a blend of brutal, technical death metal and extreme thrash influences. In 2018, the band's early material from 1991 and 1992 was compiled and reissued as Sanctum Disruption, Sphere of the Rotting. Obtruncation is recognized for their resilience and contribution to the classic Dutch death metal sound.
