Defecation

Defecation is a death metal and grindcore project formed in 1987 by guitarist Mitch Harris, then of Righteous Pigs, and drummer Mick Harris, then of Napalm Death. The duo collaborated as pen pals to create the project, with Mitch handling guitar, bass, and vocals, while Mick contributed drums and vocals. Their debut full-length album, Purity Dilution, was released in 1989 through Nuclear Blast Records. Following the album's release, the project entered a long hiatus as Mitch Harris joined Napalm Death. Defecation was later resurrected as a solo project by Mitch Harris, who released the second album, Intention Surpassed, in 2003. The band is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, and explores themes including death, violence, society, and politics.
