Band Profile
Sorcery
Formed in 1986 in Sandviken, Sweden, Sorcery stands as a pioneering force in the Swedish death metal scene. After an initial period characterized by thrash-influenced demos, the band helped define the burgeoning Swedish death metal sound by the late 1980s. Following a hiatus between 1997 and 2009, the group successfully reformed, continuing their legacy with a series of acclaimed releases through Xtreem Music. Their discography includes the pummeling Garden of Bones (2016) and the 2026 full-length The Immaculate Sin. Known for their old-school compositional approach, Sorcery maintains a distinct identity within the genre, balancing historical significance with a modern, crisp production style as they celebrate four decades of activity.
