Infestdead

Formed in Örebro, Sweden, in 1994, Infestdead was a death metal project spearheaded by multi-instrumentalist Dan Swanö and vocalist Dread. The band was conceived as a direct homage to the aggressive, American-style death metal pioneered by acts like Deicide and Morbid Angel. Characterized by high-speed intensity, relentless blast beats, and blackened, thrashing riffs, the group’s output includes the 1996 EP Killing Christ and the 1999 full-length Jesusatan. Following a period of relative obscurity, the band's catalog was compiled and reissued in 2016 as the two-disc set Satanic Serenades. Infestdead remains a notable, albeit short-lived, entry in the Swedish extreme metal underground, showcasing a departure from the melodic sensibilities often associated with Swanö’s other projects.
