Obtained Enslavement

Obtained Enslavement was a Norwegian extreme metal band from Stord, active from 1989 to 2000. The group evolved through several stylistic phases, beginning with death metal before transitioning into symphonic black metal and later adopting a melodic black metal sound. Their lyrical themes focused on witchcraft, magic, and ancient history. The band released four full-length albums, including their 1994 debut, Centuries of Sorrow. Notable members included Pest and Torgrim Øyre, both of whom also performed with Gorgoroth. The band disbanded in 2000 following the departure of their vocalist and an unsuccessful search for a replacement.
