Evocation

Originating from Borås, Sweden, Evocation is a death metal band originally active from 1991 to 1993 before reforming in 2005. The group is recognized for blending elements of the Stockholm and Gothenburg death metal scenes, resulting in a distinct sound that incorporates both raw aggression and melodic sensibilities. Their early demo tapes earned a cult following within the underground tape-trading community. Since their return, the band has maintained a consistent output of studio albums, including Tales from the Tomb (2007), Dead Calm Chaos (2008), Apocalyptic (2010), and Illusions of Grandeur (2012). Their discography also includes the 2013 release Excised and Anatomised and the 2024 compilation Evoked from Demonic Depths - the Early Years, documenting their foundational history.
