Martröð

Formed in 2014, Martröð is an international black metal project featuring members associated with acts such as Wormlust, Chaos Moon, and Skáphe. Following their 2016 EP, Transmutation of Wounds, the band remained inactive for nine years before releasing their debut full-length album, Draumsýnir eldsins, in 2025 through Debemur Morti Productions. The project’s sound is characterized by a dissonant, psychedelic approach to black metal, incorporating avant-garde elements, ambient textures, and complex, orchestrated arrangements. The music is noted for its intense, cataclysmic atmosphere and technical depth, blending swarming, percussive black metal with psychotropic noise and classical influences.
