Deranged

Formed in 1991 in Hjärup, Sweden, Deranged is a brutal death metal band that distinguishes itself from the traditional Swedish death metal sound. Rather than adhering to the melodic or buzzsaw aesthetics common to their contemporaries, the band draws stylistic influence from the technical and aggressive approaches of the American death metal scene. Their music incorporates elements of deathgrind and groove, focusing on themes of murder, gore, violence, and crime. Following a brief dissolution between 2008 and 2009, the band resumed activity and has maintained a consistent output of full-length albums and EPs throughout their career, including releases such as Rated-x, High on Blood, and Struck by a Murderous Siege.
