Halvar

Formed in 2017 in Stellenbosch, South Africa, Halvar is an active death and thrash metal outfit. The band’s lyrical focus has evolved over their tenure, shifting from early themes of war, violence, blasphemy, and Satanism toward more contemporary explorations of politics and society. Their discography includes the 2018 full-length album Welcome to Reality, which serves as a primary example of their aggressive sound. Operating independently, the group continues to contribute to the South African extreme metal scene through their recorded output and live performances.
